Isla's Birthday Weekend

This weekend was a super busy one for us starting with Friday evening, when we had Weston's 6 month pictures taken. We had a bit of a rough start, as Weston fell off a little mini stool we were trying out for a picture (oops! Mother of the year over here!) but after a brief moment of crying and brushing him off, he was back to his super smiley self & ready to snap some pictures! In the rare moments he wasn't smiling, all we had to do was ask Isla to talk to him. He hears "Hiiiii Westie J!!" from his big sissy and instantly smiles from ear to ear (& simultaneously melts mama's heart). Molly also took a few pictures with big sister Isla included as well, and I can't wait to see them! We did receive one teaser picture already & I can't stop staring at it. I mean come on!!
Saturday was Isla's birthday party. For all of her birthdays so far we have done a costume party, & continued the same this year. Her costume this year is what she calls a "princess witch". She said she needed "a dress, hat, and wand!" All of which luckily came with her costume ;) I was horrible & took essentially no pictures (let me reiterate....Mother. Of. The. Year.) but have collected a few from others who were kind enough to have taken some!

We rented a bounce house which was a pretty big hit, except for the fact that Isla thought it was her "new toy" and that she was keeping it forever--sorry babe, not so much!
Her cake & cupcakes were Pinterest inspired, along with some Frankenstein Rice Krispy Treats. Again, total failure with the picture taking, but trust me when I say they obviously weren't as awesome as the Pinterest examples, but weren't total failures either..so I'll call it a win!  There were soooo many more cute Pinterest food and decor items I wanted to attempt, but didn't find the time. There's always next year;) Weston napped the majority of her party (party pooper!) but had some fun sitting in the bounce house with the girls. Overall it was a pretty great party & Isla is a lucky girl with lots of people who love her and took time out of their weekend to come to her party!

On Sunday (her actual birthday), we went to Bishop's Pumpkin Farm. We had never been but heard good things about it. It's perfect for kids & has tons of activities for them to do. Isla went on a train ride, pony ride, carousel ride, watched a pig race, checked out the petting zoo, and picked out a pumpkin. There were a bunch of other things to do as well, but she was still super tired from her busy day before, so we kept it pretty brief. We will definitely be going back next year, & can't wait for Weston to be a little older so he can partake as well! His experience this year included a stroller ride & a nap in the Ergo carrier strapped to mama ;)

I cannot believe my baby girl is three years old now, when I swear she was just born yesterday! The weekend was awesome but flew by too fast as usual, especially since we were so busy. Today we have no aspirations of even getting out of our jammies, and I am so ok with that!

Happy Monday!
